Brain Injury Survivors of Indiana/Heads or Tails support group is sponsoring a display of masks created by brain injury survivors and their families from all over Indiana entitled “Unmasking the Faces of Brain Injury”. These outstanding indivduals created masks to relay their challenges, feelings and triumphs. It is an emotional and enlightening experience that must people will never understand or realize these brave survivors will face the rest of their lives.

Brain Injury is often known as the “Silent Epidemic” or the “Unseen Injury”. This is because problems that can result from brain injury are often not visible, and because awareness about brain injury among the general public is limited so it is difficult to accurately determine the number of people affected annually by the devastating effects of brain injury.

Awareness and attention is needed for individuals with brain injury as it is a chronic condition that needs to be managed. Funding is limited and resources for residential living, therapy and supports are minimal.

Please join us in our campaign to bring awareness on brain injury to Indiana and to give a “face” to this silent epidemic.
